About Chasing Lazy Lightning
Our Story
After years of doing carpentry for a living, and traveling as a passion, I've combined two of my joys into this one project. I took a pontoon, stripped it down, added a third log, and built a small shanty boat with the help of some great friends and family. We built everything ourselves, and on a shoestring budget. We upcycled as much as possible, and had to think outside of the box quite a bit. We look forward to sharing our experiences with friends, family, and you! Chasing Lazy Lightning is our vessel to connect with like-minded individuals and inspire others to explore the world, and build with their own two hands. We want to empower you to do the same! Since then, we've grown into a community of passionate travelers who love to discover new destinations and cultures. Follow along on our travel and adventures!

We offer adventure tours, and are available for commissions as houseboat builders.

About Your Captain: The Strangest You Could Find.
I'm Captain Carter. A father, husband, builder, musician, chef, and traveler. I have a wanderlust to explore new destinations, meet new friends, and experience different cultures. The goal of this project is to inspire people to travel more, create lifelong memories with friends and family; and explore and embrace the unknown.
